The Flexible Benefit Card is on its way

If you enrolled in a Mass General Brigham Health Plan prior to November 22, 2024 or you are an existing member, your card may arrive prior to January 1, 2025. Your card will become effective on January 1, 2025. It’s important that you don’t use this card until the effective date otherwise, the card will decline. In addition, please be sure to sign up for the Convey Member Portal at mgbadvantageotc.org.

If you enrolled in a Mass General Brigham Health Plan between November 22, 2024, and December 31, 2024, your card will arrive after January 1, 2025. However, you can still use your benefits. Here is how:

• Remember to sign up for the Convey Member Portal at mgbadvantageotc.org.  
• Over The Counter (OTC) items can be purchased online through Convey Health Solutions Member Portal beginning January 1^st even if you haven’t received your card yet.
• You may also purchase OTC items from select retailers. A listing of retailers is found in the Convey Member portal. Until you receive your card, you may purchase items that are included in your benefit and pay for them directly. You can then request a reimbursement from Mass General Brigham Health Plan. Information about what is covered can be found in your Evidence of Coverage document.
• After you submit your reimbursement request, Mass General Brigham Health Plan will confirm that the items purchased are included in your benefits and will then issue you a reimbursement check. Your overall benefit allowance will be adjusted to reflect the purchase. Locate the Flexible Benefit Reimbursement form after January 1, 2025, at member.MassGeneralBrighamHealthPlan.org or mgbadvantage.org under “Member Resources.”

If you enrolled in a Mass General Brigham Health Plan after January 1, 2025, your card will arrive a few weeks after your enrollment is completed. This may be before or after your plan effective date, depending on when you enrolled. You cannot use your card prior to your effective date. If you do not receive your card before your effective date, refer to the information above about how to make purchases before you’ve received your card.
